How it all started
Before the Human Design Hotel even had a name, it had the first esteemed guest.
In the fall of 2024, Human Design expert Eden Carpenter visited our still-unfinished space in Montreal. She came to explore the concept and FEEL what Montreal and the unnamed building had to offer.
As someone with a highly sensitive system (closed taste determination in HD), Eden showed us how exhausting it can be to constantly adapt to new places while managing Celiac (a gluten allergy).
Eden didn’t ask us to change anything.
She invited us to notice the little things, like how much research goes into finding an allergy-friendly restaurant in a new city.
Because we took the time to notice, the vision of a hotel centered around personal truths instead of popular trends came to life.
We saw a place where:

Eden didn’t just inspire us, she set the tone!
Her presence reminded us that everyone deserves to feel healthy & vibrant while they travel. That your unique needs aren’t a burden, they’re a map to creating the most comfortable experiences for each of our unique guests.
So if you’ve ever wondered who’s behind the Human Design Hotel? And why should I be interested in this?
This is where it began! One September day in Montreal.
With Mya, a visionary who listened to her intuition.
With Desiree, leader of the VOICE of RALIA.
When Anda, a sound healer who crystalized the frequency of the building as it lived up to its name: CONNECTIONS
With Eden, a human design expert who stepped up to BUILD the travel experience of dreams.

The great experiment
You’re here because you are already experimenting with your life in some way or another.
You’re experimenting with your intuition.
You’re noticing how your body responds and reacts to different places, people, and foods.
You’re curious what true alignment in all areas of life looks and feels like for you!
And you’re not alone!
This same experimental energy is what inspired the Human Design Hotel, not a trend or real estate strategy! But one woman’s quiet choice to live her life in full alignment and let the results speak for themselves.
Mya Pearle, the founder of RALIA, started building with feeling first. She named her company before she ever discovered Human Design: RA for her daughter (sun, masculine energy), LIA for her son (goodness, feminine energy). The energy balance she aimed for in life became her formula for parenting, for business, and now, for hospitality.
Only later did she learn that the Human Design’s founder also came from Montreal… and went by the name Ra. Which could be a coincidence, but we believe this path is full of synchronicities if you’re paying attention!

What even is a human design hotel?
At this point, we are sure you are still kind of wondering, “What even is a Human Design Hotel?” Today, we are going to tell you the first answer, because this journey didn’t begin with the final answer!
⌛Let’s time travel back to 2023 when all we had was a floorplan.
Before there were walls (or even a name)… there was an invitation:

Florence Charron said yes!
Florence, founder of Indee Design, didn’t know exactly what she said yes to, but she trusted in her intuition just as much as we did.
She designed with clear intentions and deep respect! What emerged was a beautiful backdrop that holds space for, and amplifies, the voices of others.
Her job wasn’t to steal the spotlight; it was to shape the stage. And what she created was more than a simple hotel room or a “zen look.”
The Human Design Hotel 🏨 is a space where beauty meets function.
Each suite has a different energetic theme that has been intentionally activated by a key member in our community.
Each room focuses on an energy centre.
Each room has a personal Activator to bring the theme and the energy centre to life and connect it to Human Design.
Imagine a room adorned to intentionally evoke feelings.
A room that blends beauty with the function to guide you back to the center of your soul (your north star).
One room might soften your nervous system, while another might invite you to express something powerful that’s been waiting to emerge.
You are not going to walk into the Human Design Hotel to escape, rather you will move through each space intentionally to remember who you are.
She designed every curve, every opening, and every detail to let light and energy move freely through the space.
This became the foundation for what the Human Design Hotel is today:
a beautiful space that honors individuality, expression, and rest.
You will never see us label the BUILDING “The Human Design Hotel”.
Why?
Because the Human Design Hotel concept is designed to be felt in the body and unseen by the eye. You will need to find us. Imagine, you are finding us now - considering all the noise in the world, how VERY SPECIAL you finding us truly is. By design we have left many breadcrumbs in our messages and SECRETS with deeper meaning in our texts.
For instance, did you catch that the real name of our building is “CONNECTIONS”.
One of our favorite things about the connections building is our large event space. It’s where we host important events like our in-house Kids Club. This joyful, pop-up childcare program makes it possible for parents to fully participate in retreats, wellness sessions, workshops, and live events while their children are cared for just steps away.
It’s one of the most beloved pieces of our hotel ecosystem! It serves as a reminder that getting out and travelling and networking is possible when you become a parent.
Our event space has held gatherings of all kinds, from celebrations and workshops to corporate launches and aligned networking! You name it, and I guarantee we’ve held space for it here!

Cass cafe
The connection and community just keeps expanding! Lets step into the heart of our public space: Cass Café ☕
This corner of love, calm, and quiet revolution started in a van!! 🚐
In the early 2020s, Gabrielle Letain-Mathieu was traveling across the Americas, living out of her vintage Dodge van (affectionately named Cass ♥).
On the road, surrounded by uncertainty, Cass became Gab's anchor - a space that made her feel calm, inspired, and at home. Somewhere between gas station coffee and sunrises over mountain ranges, a dream started to form: one day, she would open a café named after the van that carried her through it all.
That café is now real, and it lives in the Human Design Hotel.
But what made us say, “Yes” to Gab wasn’t just her coffee brewing skills… It was her core values.
♻️ Gab is committed to zero-waste practices and ethically sourced, plant-based offerings. From farm to latte, her choices reflect the kind of care and consciousness we want every guest to feel the moment they walk through our doors.
Her actions speak softly but clearly: sustainability is a love language.
Today, Cass Café is our front porch. It’s where travelers and locals pause, where ideas swirl like oat milk in espresso, and where the smallest decisions - what cup we use, where our beans come from, and how we treat each other - become quiet acts of alignment.
Gab didn’t just open a café! She shaped the culture of the building. She’s helped us reimagine waste systems, rethink sourcing, and reconnect real estate with the responsibility to care for the land we occupy.
And now, we are delighted to share her story every time someone walks in for a warm drink and leaves feeling a little more connected.
Why we are creating this
To be honest, the Human Design Hotel makes very little sense to the real estate world! Short-term rentals are supposed to be cookie-cutter, templated, and profit-first.
But we are throwing out the traditional rule book!
We’re building our spaces to be feeling-first. We're designing rooms based on energetic principles, not how cheap we can get the bedsheets!
We know this is not how it’s usually done.
We also know that this is exactly what’s needed so that the future of real estate is sustainable, enjoyable, and personable.
Here at Ralia Realty, we’re not alone in bringing this vision to life!
We have been using Human Design to guide us. More specifically, Eden Carpenter’s process for releasing money blocks and stepping into aligned decision-making!
We’ve worked hand-in-hand with Eden to map this launch according to the same tools she teaches her clients:

And in 2025 it began…
Our launch week WAS November 1st-8th, with our first public experiences, HOTEL GUESTS, and ACTIVATOR DISPLAYS.
What unfolded was magic.
Below are our insights around the launch, what is happening in real time, what we hope we don’t repeat, and what is coming through as the next important direction.
FOUNDERS NOTES ✐

As you may already know, we launched a truly unique Human Design integrated hospitality experience in early November 2025. The launch brought a full spectrum of emotions. There were moments of deep pride, like hearing guests say the energy of the building reminded them of Sedona. There were also moments of doubt, including one public review that felt surprisingly challenging, even though all of our guests left us with hugs exclaiming how nourished and inspired they felt.
That contrast taught us something important early on. Building something new, especially something values-led and experiential, is inherently vulnerable. Starting is messy. Not everyone will understand what you are creating while it is still becoming. That moment reminded us to stay anchored in our values, let ourselves have a little cry first, and then to trust that we do not need to please everyone in order to build something meaningful.
From the beginning, we chose co-creation with Eden Carpenter. I personally adore building this experience with Eden as she truly lives by her Human Design and her values.
Eden has been aligning the Human Design architecture of the hotel, while Ralia and our extended team hold the container, the business, and the long-term vision. We are two distinct entities moving together to create one shared experience. We guide each other constantly through planning, reflection, gut checks, and sometimes choosing to slow down when it would be easier to rush.
As this note is being published, Eden is developing a custom Human Design chart specifically for the hotel experience. Her work is intentionally in progress. It is being shaped by real guests, real stays, and lived experience rather than theory alone or AI ideas.
“I have been tinkering with chart generating software and refining the details in my descriptions to bring together the perfect report for the guests of the Human Design Hotel. I am aiming to provide useful details, while keeping the information light and easy to understand. Alongside the report for each guest, I am also creating some practical guidelines for the hotel team so every step of our communication is tailored to your design. The experiment is fully in progress, and for now I am simply showing up, continuing to respond, and honoring my design every step of the way! ” 🫶Eden Carpenter - Your HD Fairy Godmother
One of the most tangible evolutions this past chapter has been the Activator contributions coming fully to life inside the hotel. This was our first time inviting entrepreneurs to leave a physical and energetic imprint on the space, and it mattered to do this slowly and with care.
Margaret’s artwork now lives throughout the rooms, offering quiet invitations to go deeper into self. Joelle’s prints bring storytelling and a sense of coming into power that we deeply admire. Olivia’s contribution adds texture and a frequency of freedom that only a hairdresser truly understands. These elements are not decoration for decoration’s sake. They shape how people feel when they arrive tired, open, or in transition. That tone is now set.
What also became clear during the launch is that the experience does not need to end when guests check out.
One piece of feedback we received again and again was how much guests loved our curation of amenities and small touches. We realized that many people were feeling the good energy not because of one big feature, but because of all the little things working together.
That insight opened a new door for us.
We are now creating ways for people to bring the Human Design Hotel experience home with them. It starts simply. Our fluffy bathrobes are exactly what they sound like. A giant, soft, grounding hug that turns an ordinary shower into a ritual. We are also sharing meaningful objects and stories, like The Path of Femininity by Éléonore de Posson, one of our launch guests, whose keynote on rebirth deeply moved our community. Her book now lives in our lobby boutique, alongside other thoughtfully chosen items.
Our intention is not to add more to anyone’s to-do list. We are focused on effortless rituals. Small, supportive shifts that fit into real life and invite presence without pressure.
On the guest experience side, the Human Design Hotel is also becoming more specific and grounded. Guests are invited to receive their Human Design chart when they book, along with gentle guidance on how they might best navigate Montreal. Where to eat. How to pace their days. How to make decisions while traveling in a way that feels aligned rather than draining. We also invite intention. Not as a performance, but as an opening. What feeling do you want to explore? What flow do you want to allow?
This place is not finished, and that is intentional.
The Human Design Hotel is still becoming. You will continue to see these updates monthly as we build, refine, and listen. This hospitality experience is being shaped through feedback, conversation, pauses, and course corrections.
